WASHINGTON, DC: Tomi Lahren, a commentator for Outkick, has suggested that Donald Trump’s campaign should pivot away from its current "doom and gloom" messaging in order to enhance his appeal to voters.

On the Friday, August 16 episode of Fox News' 'Outnumbered', the conservative anchor highlighted how a recent interview with Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, where they discussed light-hearted topics such as tacos and music, presented them as more relatable due to their upbeat tone, as per Mediaite

Tomi Lahren advocates for a more positive campaign approach to attract young voters and swing voters

Tomi Lahren argued that Donald Trump's campaign would benefit from adopting a more positive message, particularly to engage younger voters. She expressed that a hopeful campaign could also attract independents and swing state voters, who might be disheartened by the current state of affairs but would respond better to optimism.

"I think it works with a lot of independent and swing voters as well. And I hate to say that, but it’s the truth because they are," noted the 'Tomi Lahren is Fearless' host.

She added, "To your point, Molly, coming off as very positive, people might not feel positive where they are in their lives right now, but when they see somebody making light of a bad situation and making them feel better, for some people that’s going to work."

Lahren went on, "The people that don’t pay attention to the radical policies or how the economy’s going or the open border, and unfortunately, there are a lot of voters out there that don’t pay close attention to the day-to-day as we all do. That’s why I think the Trump campaign really needs to strike a positive tone."

Tomi Lahren says perception is the reality for a lot of people

Tomi Lahren further remarked, "They need to make Donald Trump a little bit more relatable, maybe a little bit more positive. We understand that the Biden-Harris administration destroyed America, but every speech from him can’t be that, because then people are going to say, well, this is just doom and gloom. We want some kind of optimism for the future."

Judge Juan Merchan scheduled Trump's criminal trial to begin on April 15, which would make it the first criminal prosecution of a former American president. Trump was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records last year, which prosecutors say was an effort to hide a potential sex scandal, both before and after the 2016 election. She emphasized the importance of relatability in the campaign, suggesting that Trump could enhance his appeal by showcasing his personal side.

"Donald Trump can do that. He’s a very relatable person," said the Fox News guest host.

Lahren suggested, "We just need more of that side of him, maybe more with his grandkids. And I know that that seems cheesy, but for a lot of people, relatability and likability matters to them, and they’ve managed to make Tim Walz and Kamala Harris relatable and likable. Whether they are or not doesn’t matter."

She pointed out, "Perception is reality for a lot of people."
