WASHINGTON, DC: Sen Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) faced significant backlash on Sunday after asserting that former President Barack Obama was 'running the country' along with other establishment Democrats.

During an interview on Fox News, host Maria Bartiromo questioned Tuberville about Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) allegedly concealing President Joe Biden's "mental fitness."

Tommy Tuberville suggests Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, and Barack Obama are running country

"I mean, did Senator Schumer not see what everybody else is seeing in plain sight?" Bartiromo asked. "You don't know about the conversation in the Senate right now about Joe Biden's mental fitness?"

“We’ve all known Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, and Obama’s been running the country, along with [Secretary of State Antony] Blinken and [National Security Advisor Jake] Sullivan out of the White House," Tuberville said. "They’ve all been making the decisions. Joe Biden had been making decisions. He might have first year had some say so about what's going on, but he's been out of it since after the first first year in office."

He noted that "you can tell" by observing Schumer and Pelosi's actions during the first two years of the Biden administration. "They were calling the shots," he said, adding that "the Deep State has total control of this."

Tommy Tuberville claims Democrats are involved in 'satanic cult'

Tuberville, a Republican senator, single-handedly stalled hundreds of military promotions for months, despite objections from some of his GOP colleagues, due to his disagreement with the Pentagon’s policy of covering travel expenses for military members seeking abortion care.

Tuberville is well-known for promoting unfounded conspiracy theories. In March, he asserted that Democrats are involved in a “satanic cult.” “I’ve traveled all over the country — all 50 states — I’ve been in good places and bad places. The one thing I saw, we are losing our kids to a satanic cult,” reported Yahoo.

“We’ve lost our moral values across the country. We’ve got to get back to the Constitution, and we have got to get back to the Bible. We’ve got to get God back in our country. There’s not one Democrat that can tell you they stand up for God.”

Tommy Tuberville's controversial remarks draw flak

A social media user tweeted, "Tuberville is Dumb AF!"

Another said, "This mother fu****r needs to be impeached from the Senate. Just for what he’s done to our military."

A third claimed, "Tubberville can barely run his mouth. Clown."

"He’s an even worse senator than a football coach. That’s remarkable," read a tweet.

"Tommy Tuberville is a stupid, racist, lying piece of sh*t. That is all," penned an individual.
