The mother of the journalist has not been seen since January 31, before being reported missing on February 1 afternoon when she missed a church service. The source has now told PEOPLE that a trail of what seems like drops of blood was seen at the front steps of Nancy’s house.
Ring camera allegedly missing from Nancy Guthrie's home
In addition, remains of an apparent Ring camera were also seen at the scene. It seems the camera was removed from the front door area. However, the Pima County Sheriff's Office, which is investigating the missing case, has not said anything about the blood.
Besides, during a press conference on February 3, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos shared that they have “no clue” about Nancy’s whereabouts, as well as whether one or more people were involved in the disappearance and possible kidnapping of her.
Investigators say Nancy Guthrie was taken away 'in middle of the night'
Regarding any threat to the local community, Nanos added, “Is there somebody out there kidnapping elderly people in the middle of the night every night? We’ve not heard that.”
However, during the February 2 press conference, the Sheriff said that Nancy was “taken from the home against her will, possibly in the middle of the night.”
He also noted that “she didn’t just walk out of there,” before adding, “This is an 84-year-old lady who suffers from some physical ailments, has some physical challenges, is in need of medication — medication that, if she doesn't have in 24 hours, it could be fatal.”
