LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Travis Kelce has finally shared the details behind one of the biggest moments in his relationship with wife Taylor Swift: his proposal. The NFL star revealed how he secretly planned to ask the pop superstar to marry him before they exchanged vows.

While the couple's 2025 engagement announcement, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," became one of the internet's favorite moments, Kelce had never publicly revealed what happened before he got down on one knee.

During the season four finale of 'New Heights', released on Wednesday, July 8, the Kansas City Chiefs star opened up about the proposal while reflecting on Swift's August 2025 appearance on the podcast.

The episode featured NFL legend Tom Brady, and Kelce described starting the season with Swift and ending it with Brady as memorable moments.

"Ending this season with Tom Brady. Pretty epic. Starting it with Taylor. Pretty epic," Kelce said.

The NFL star then revealed that he had already decided to propose while they were recording the episode with Swift. "During that recording, the entire time I'm planning like, I'm gonna ask this woman to marry me after this," he recalled.

Looking back on the episode, the newlywed added, "Obviously, the beginning of it, with Taylor, is one I'll remember forever."

Kelce also noted that the episode became "by far, our most viewed episode of all time," before adding, "It was pretty fun." Jason Kelce agreed, calling the episode "incredible," prompting laughter from his younger brother.

Kelce's comments confirmed a long-standing theory among Swift's fans that he proposed shortly after Swift's appearance on 'New Heights'.

Kelce revealed that he kept Swift occupied during her appearance while preparations were underway at his backyard for the proposal. After the podcast recording ended, he got down on one knee and asked the singer to marry him.

Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in September 2025 with a joint Instagram post that read, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."
