WASHINGTON, DC: Alex Bruesewitz, who worked on President Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign and handled his podcast appearances, fired back at Sen Ted Cruz with an unusual accusation on Saturday.

Cruz dismissed Bruesewitz on X as a “young political grifter” after the latter asked him to "stop trying to undermine the President and his administration" on a potential deal with Iran.

“Sorry you’re still salty that I prevented you from getting a picture with Nicki Minaj after you came running after her like a school girl,” Bruesewitz wrote, adding, “You’re going to get wiped out in 2028, clown."

Ted Cruz roasted over alleged Nicki Minaj photo chase

Bruesewitz later escalated the exchange by posting what he said was a photo showing Cruz attempting to meet Minaj.

“Not to overexaggerate, but I’ve never seen anything like it,” Bruesewitz wrote in the caption. “[Ted Cruz] and his staff literally sprinted down the hallway screaming ‘Nicki! Nicki! Nicki!’ begging Nicki Minaj for a picture.”

According to Bruesewitz, he told Cruz they were short on time and needed to get to the White House rather than stop for photos.

"I told Ted we were in a rush, we had to get to the White House, and didn’t have time to stop for photos with every fan. (To her credit, Nicki stopped and took pics with as many staffers and elected officials as she could.) We just didn’t have time for Ted," he wrote. "Plus, brand-wise, it’s not exactly a good look to pose with Lyin’ Ted, so I was looking out for my girl."

He then claimed Cruz later managed to approach them anyway, and that Cruz’s team snapped a photo as they were leaving.

“Extremely creepy,” Bruesewitz wrote. “I sure as heck won’t be taking any foreign policy advice from a guy who behaves like that.”

Bruesewitz eventually said he would “always” have Minaj’s back. “She’s the goat,” he wrote.

Minaj appeared to acknowledge the praise with a heart emoji.

Nicki Minaj is fully aboard the Trump train

This year, Minaj has been outspoken in her support for the Trump administration and made headlines during the Trump Accounts Summit in January.

Speaking at the podium while Trump stood behind her, she said, “I don’t know what to say, but I will say that I am probably the president's No. 1 fan. That's not going to change.”

During the summit, she also held hands with the President and said criticism would not "affect" her political views.

“And the hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more—and it’s gonna motivate all of us to support him more,” Minaj said. “We’re not going to let them get away with bullying him and, you know, the smear campaigns: It’s not going to work, OK? He has a lot of force behind him, and God is protecting him. Amen.”

Before Minaj’s remarks, Trump introduced her as "the greatest and most successful female rapper in history."

Trump also joked about copying her signature style. “I said, ‘I'm going to let my nails grow’ because I love those nails," he quipped.

He added, “She’s been MAGA. What can I say? She’s been with us all the way.”
