UNIONDALE, NEW YORK: Donald Trump met an eight-year-old boy named Liam, who has been his fan since he was 18 months old, during his rally at Uniondale's Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Wednesday, September 18.

The young supporter has a rare brain disorder, as per Fox News Digital. Doctors warned his parents that Liam might never walk, talk, or eat on his own.

Ahead of the meeting, Liam’s mother, Siobhan, told the outlet, "My buddy here plays ice hockey, he does roller hockey, he does very good in school, plays sports…we’re so proud of him."

Donald Trump gives Liam the 'best present'

On meeting his young supporter, the 78-year-old politician said, "I'm supposed to be on that stage, but that doesn't matter because I got you the best present. This is the best present you'll ever have."

"We're gonna have that picture for life, you and I," told Trump to Liam, before adding, "Take care of yourself, okay? I wish I looked like that or if I looked like that, I'd be president."

Shortly after, Liam's father told Fox News Digital, "It's a pipe dream, I can never imagine, to thank the world for helping my son come this far and showing support and making his dream come true, because, believe it or not, this is definitely probably one of his big dreams, to meet Donald Trump, his hero since he was probably born. If not, very close."

He asserted, "Trump 2024!"

Donald Trump sent a heartfelt letter to Liam on his eighth birthday

The special meeting came just a few days after Liam received "a very special birthday card" from Donald Trump.

Citizen journalist Toria Brooke shared the video on social media with a caption quoting Kevin Smith. It read, "Meet Liam, an 8-year-old boy from New York with a rare Brain disorder… Who got a very special birthday card from his hero…"

"This is the side of Trump the media WILL NEVER show you. This was sent to me by Liam’s family… Donald Trump didn’t ask for Credit for this. He just did it. Because he’s a good person. No matter what the media tries to say," continued the caption.

In the video, Siobhan read Trump's message for her son, "Dear Liam, Happy birthday, Mrs Trump, and I hope you enjoy this special occasion surrounded by the love of your family and friends."

"We are so encouraged by the strength and determination you have shown throughout your life and send our love and best wishes to you as you continue to fight. Remember you are never alone, and we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers for continued care and good health. May God bless you and your family, stay strong," added the letter.

Internet hails Donald Trump for his endearing gesture

Donald Trump's supporters were clearly moved by the former president's warm gesture toward Liam, and several took to the comments section of the Fox News Digital article to share their appreciation.

One wrote, "Trump is a sinister to the media and Democrats but a living hero to the rest of the country. He has a heart that resonates with the people far and wide. Thank you, Mr. Trump, for being an inspiration to so many."

"Trump has been doing things like this for years well before he was president. It is not something he brags about it’s just something he does out of the goodness of his heart. It is important to note there is the business man and there is the private citizen," shared another.

A person noted, "This is the sweetest story ever! Trump and that little boy are bonded by hearts. God bless you Liam," while someone else added, "Say what you will about Trump, but he has a big heart. Some people will say he's doing it for cameras, but I choose to believe he is doing out of the goodness of his heart."

"My dad always said you can tell the most about a person by the way they treat people they don’t think they need. Trump 2024!" expressed an individual.

One more wrote, "Trump never pretended to be anyone but Trump. That is his greatness. He spoke the mind of common people. Always acted in good faith for America and her citizens, ALL citizens,” a comment read.

"This man is the one that Democrats fear.  But they fear him because he is not the demon they make him out to be. They fear him because America knows his character and we know that Trump's the right man at the right time," offered a supporter.
