Donald Trump claims ‘trillions of dollars’ have been brought in due to tariffs

He said that since the tariffs had been implemented, America had seen “trillions of dollars” coming into the country as new investment and also contributed to unprecedented global partnerships, including minerals, defense and artificial intelligence.

The President commented on his relationship with the Chinese president, Xi Jinping, and said that the two got along well. He added that they had a group that was foreign and China-centric, and believed the Trump administration would win the upcoming Supreme Court case about tariffs due to the economic contribution made towards the economy due to Trump’s international relationships.

As Trump further touted the Trump administration’s role in the global hemisphere, he reiterated that he had ended eight wars.

“And without trade and tariffs, we wouldn’t have been able to end any of them,” Trump said.

Trump added that the Trump tariffs had contributed to bringing in “hundreds of billions of dollars” into the US Treasury, helped inflation, and helped cut the federal budget deficit by 27%. Trump further credited the recent success of the stock market to his tariffs.

He said that it was the historic use of tariffs that made America “strong and powerful” in the past generations before the nation switched to income taxes.

President rebukes critics of his tariff policy

During the speech, Trump stated that every prediction that had been made by critics about the US tariff policy had “failed to materialize.”

He added that the evidence proved that the tariffs were not paid by American consumers, but by foreign nations and “middlemen.” Trump said other countries paid tariffs because they were aware that without doing so, their companies wouldn’t be viable, and called America the “big beneficiary.”

“Once again, the so-called experts were 100% wrong, and Trump was right,” he added.

The President praised the people of Michigan for being right and for electing the right representative.

Trump also slammed the Biden government, stating that under Joe Biden, America had the highest trade deficit ever recorded. He recalled that the country had lost more than $1 trillion each year during Joe Biden’s four-year term.

“We’ve slashed that gaping trade deficit by, in a short period of time, 62%, it just came out,” Trump said.
