PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Donald Trump's team issued statements riddled with numerous spelling errors while trying to clean up the mess surrounding the former president's Arlington National Cemetery visit.

The GOP nominee has faced criticism for filming and taking photos in Section 60 of the military cemetery. Moreover, one of his campaign staff reportedly got into a physical altercation with a cemetery official over filming in the restricted section.

This has led to questions over whether Trump's campaign violated the federal law that bans campaign materials from being photographed or filmed in certain sections of the cemetery, as per Raw Story

Judge Juan Merchan scheduled Trump's criminal trial to begin on April 15, which would make it the first criminal prosecution of a former American president. Trump was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records last year, which prosecutors say was an effort to hide a potential sex scandal, both before and after the 2016 election. Donald Trump's campaign makes glaring mistakes in statements on Arlington cemetery visit

NewsNation's Libbey Dean reported on Saturday, August 31, that the "Trump campaign misspelled cemetery in a statement release from (Republican Senator Tom Cotton) on Trump’s Visit to Arlington National Cemetery."

The title of the statement, available on Trump's website, read, "Statement from Senator Tom Cotton on President Trump’s Visit to Arlington National Cemetary."

Hugo Lowell, senior political correspondent for The Guardian, also stated that it wasn't the first spelling error in the campaign's Arlington National Cemetery response.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, "Not clear whether the Trump campaign had greater difficulty this week with spelling or cleaning up the Arlington debacle. First they were on 'hollowed [sic] grounds' and now they were at 'Arlington National Cemetary [sic].'"

Vice President Kamala Harris has also criticized Trump over the controversy involving his visit to the Arlington National Cemetery, and said that the burial site is "not a place for politics."

On X, the Democratic nominee wrote, "As Vice President, I have had the privilege of visiting Arlington National Cemetery several times. It is a solemn place; a place where we come together to honor American heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service of this nation. It is not a place for politics."

She continued, "And yet, as was reported this week, Donald Trump’s team chose to film a video there, resulting in an altercation with cemetery staff. Let me be clear: the former president disrespected sacred ground, all for the sake of a political stunt."

Echoing President Joe Biden, Harris added, "This is nothing new from Donald Trump. This is a man who has called our fallen service members 'suckers' and 'losers' and disparaged Medal of Honor recipients. A man who, during a previous visit to the cemetery, reportedly said of fallen service members, 'I don’t get it. What was in it for them?'"

She further expressed, "This is a man who is unable to comprehend anything other than service to himself. If there is one thing on which we as Americans can all agree, it is that our veterans, military families, and service members should be honored, never disparaged, and treated with nothing less than our highest respect and gratitude."

"And it is my belief that someone who cannot meet this simple, sacred duty should never again stand behind the seal of the President of the United States of America," noted Harris.

In conclusion, the 59-year-old White House hopeful proclaimed, "I will always honor the service and sacrifice of all of America’s fallen heroes, who made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of our beloved nation and our cherished freedoms. I mourn them and salute them. And I will never politicize them."

Internet trolls Donald Trump as his camp makes major errors in Arlington cemetery visit statements

Soon after the glaring spelling errors were pointed out by the journalists, netizens seized the opportunity to poke fun at Donald Trump, who's known for his error-ridden social media tirades.

One commented, "Trump thinks a 'cemetary' is where Catholic men go to study for the priesthood," and another said, "Trump staff seems to be too stupid to realize almost every single browser and document software has spell checking."

"Spelling is the very smallest, tiniest problem with trump's Arlington Cemetery abuse," expressed a person.

Someone else remarked, "Trump loves the poorly educated, see," referring to his 2016 Nevada Republican presidential caucuses victory speech.

"If Tom Cotton is the person blundering to your defense, uh yeah... you've already lost the case," quipped one more.
