WASHINGTON, DC: Two of Donald Trump's golf clubs in New Jersey do not have their liquor licenses renewed while state investigators look into whether his conviction in the hush money case has an impact on the ability to hold those licenses, The Hill reported.

A representative for the New Jersey attorney general's office stated via email on Friday, June 28, that the Trump National Golf Clubs in Colts Neck and Bedminster did not have their liquor licenses renewed by the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

The two golf clubs were given temporary authorization to sell alcohol until a hearing is held on the licenses, which expired on Sunday, June 30. The division stated that the hearing is set on July 19, which comes after Trump's sentence on July 11.

The spokesperson mentioned in the email, "The final judgment of conviction that raises the prospect of disqualifying Mr. Trump from an interest in a New Jersey liquor license due to the guilty verdict in New York will not be entered until after his sentencing."

Notably, the representative pointed out that it is still the applicant's responsibility to provide evidence that they satisfy the licensing standards.

As the only beneficiary of the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust, the division's preliminary investigation revealed that Trump 'maintains a direct beneficial interest in the three liquor licenses through the receipt of revenues and profits from them', according to the office.

A Trump Organization spokesman told The Hill in a statement that the hearing for the renewal of the company's alcohol licenses 'is unwarranted and unjustified'.

The spokesperson said, "As previously stated, President Trump is not the holder of any liquor license in New Jersey, and he is not an officer, director or operator of any entity that holds a liquor license in New Jersey.  These liquor licenses support the livelihoods of many hundreds of hard working New Jersey residents, including bartenders, waiters and waitresses, they service thousands of members, and they contribute millions of dollars to the revenue streams of the State of New Jersey."

The spokesperson further added, "They are also relied upon by people for special life events, including weddings, Christenings, and Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, as well as charitable outings and events.  We sincerely hope that this investigation is not political in nature, and given the foregoing, we feel confident that our licenses will remain unaffected."

The New York hush money case's guilty decision raised questions about whether Trump's possession of liquor licenses at three of his golf facilities in the state may be affected. This was disclosed by the state attorney general's office in June. Rejecting the probe at the time, the Trump Organization claimed that Trump did not own the liquor licenses.

A spokesperson for the Trump Organization said in June, "President Trump is not the holder of any liquor license in New Jersey, and he is not an officer or director of any entity that holds a liquor license in New Jersey — or anywhere in the United States for that matter."
