Trump fumes over another Nobel snub and lists his peace claims from Venezuela to Iran
WASHINGTON, DC: Even a day after the Nobel Peace Prize was announced on Friday, October 9, President Donald Trump is continuing to bash the decision taken by the Nobel Committee.
President Trump expressed his surprise and anger over the decision that he was not awarded the peace prize despite stopping what he claimed were several wars around the world.
The Nobel Peace Prize for 2026 was awarded to South African Judge Navanethem 'Navi' Pillay for her efforts to promote peace, international law, accountability for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and g******e.
Trump lists the wars he says he ended
In a Truth Social post early on Saturday, the president listed all his works that according to him resulted in prolonged peace around the world.
The president complained that despite stopping 8 wars, saving Venezuela by capturing a violent dictator, and stopping Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, the Nobel Committee didn't consider him for an award for his peace efforts.
“I settled 8 WARS, am close to ending or settling 2 more, got all of the Israeli hostages back, including the final 28, both living and dead, had hundreds of hostages, from countries all over the World, released and sent back home, won a war in Venezuela, and captured the violent dictator who so viciously ran that country,” Trump wrote.

Yet, with all of that I, or the United States of America, did not get the Noble Peace Prize. WOW! ( TS: Oct 10 2026, 8:04 AM ET )

He further touted stopping Iran sponsored extremism from wreaking havoc before complaining that with all of that he “or the United States of America, did not get the Noble Peace Prize.”
“Wow,” he exclaimed at the end.
Trump boosts attack on committee for awarding Navi Pillay
Trump amplified a fierce backlash against the Nobel Committee after it selected South African jurist Navi Pillay for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize.
The criticism centers on Pillay’s leadership of a United Nations inquiry into the Gaza conflict, whose findings have drawn strong objections from Israel and Trump’s allies.
Trump registered his scathing criticism of the decision by reposting a statement from the Schoen Law Firm attacking the Nobel Committee’s decision to honor Pillay.
“Today the Nobel Committee shamed itself beyond repair and demeaned the once great Nobel Peace Prize by giving it to the UN’s Navi Pillay. Pillay is an unabashed hater of America and Israel,” Schoen Law Firm wrote.
Schoen Law Firm further questioned Pillay and said that she "has no credibility in any normal sphere and has never done a thing to foster peace."
The law firm said Trump helped broker the Abraham Accords and is now working to expand them. It also said he brought home hostages when their release seemed unlikely, is trying to end the Russia-Ukraine war, stop Iran and rebuild Gaza. The firm argued that these are the kinds of efforts the Nobel Peace Prize was meant to recognize.
Pillay says 'I still want to verify'
When Navanethem 'Navi' Pillay was announced as the recipient of the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, she was shocked and wanted to confirm if she was really honored with the prestigious award.
"Being a lawyer and a judge, I still want to verify this information," Pillay said.
"Being a lawyer and a judge, I still want to verify this information." Navi Pillay – newly awarded peace laureate – didn't yet believe she had actually been awarded a Nobel Prize, standing in the courtroom where the Nuremberg trials took place. She told the room, "I think it's very appropriate that I'm with friends and colleagues, all of whom support human rights." Join us in congratulating our 2026 Nobel Peace Prize laureate!

"You don't want to receive award prize or anything unless public agrees that you deserve this," she said after the announcement while standing in the courtroom where the Nuremberg trials took place.
"I think it's very appropriate that I'm with friends and colleagues, all of whom support human rights," she added, acknowledging the people gathered at the courtroom who appreciated her work.
