Trump labeled ‘insane’ as he hopes America wipes Iran ‘off the face of the Earth’ if he is assassinated
WASHINGTON, DC: Former president and current Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump expressed a final wish on the afternoon of Thursday, July 25, in the event he is ever assassinated by Iranian agents.
Accompanying a video clip of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump posted the following message on Truth Social.
Donald Trump hopes 'America obliterates Iran'
Donald Trump wrote, "If they do 'assassinate President Trump', which is always a possibility, I hope that America obliterates Iran, wipes it off the face of the Earth — If that does not happen, American Leaders will be considered “gutless” cowards!"

His statement was made alongside a video clip of Benjamin Netanyahu's speech to the US Congress on Wednesday, July 24, where Netanyahu emphasized Iran's threats.
Trump survived an assassination attempt on July 13 during a rally in Pennsylvania. Twenty-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire at the rally, killing a former volunteer fire chief and injuring two others. Trump was slightly injured in his ear.
After the assassination attempt, CNN stated that "US authorities obtained intelligence from a human source in recent weeks on a plot by Iran to try to assassinate Donald Trump, a development that led to the Secret Service increasing security around the former president".
“NSC [National Security Council] directly contacted USSS [United States Secret Service at a senior level to be absolutely sure they continued to track the latest reporting. USSS shared this information with the detail lead, and the Trump campaign was made aware of an evolving threat. In response to the increased threat, Secret Service surged resources and assets for the protection of former president Trump. All of this was in advance of Saturday,” a national security official informed CNN, as per Mediaite.
Thomas Matthew Crooks not involved in any Iranian conspiracy
However, there is no evidence to suggest that Thomas Matthew Crooks, the individual who attempted to assassinate Donald Trump, was involved in any Iranian conspiracy.
Throughout his presidency, Trump was at odds with the Iranians, pursuing a "maximum pressure" strategy against the authoritarian, theocratic regime.
The former president not only pulled out of the Iran nuclear agreement but also authorized the killing of Qasem Soleimani, the general labeled as a terrorist who led the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' notorious Quds Force.
“Soleimani was plotting imminent and sinister attacks on American diplomats and military personnel, but we caught him in the act and terminated him,” Trump said while explaining his decision to eliminate Soleimani, citing it as a necessary action.
He further added, “The future belongs to the people of Iran — those who seek peaceful coexistence and cooperation — not the terrorist warlords who plunder their nation to finance bloodshed abroad.”
Internet reacts to Donald Trump's call to 'obliterate' Iran if he is assassinated
Donald Trump's call to 'obliterate' Iran in the event he is assassinated by Iranian agents did not go down well with people on the internet.
A user said, "'I'd die happy knowing my death would result in the obliteration of tens of millions of innocents'. What kind of sick soul says this kind of thing?"
Another user added, "His dying wish is for a nuclear war? Dude has some issues."
The third commentator wrote, "Sounds like dementia."
"Looks like dimentia. He has the same distant look in his eyes my sainted mother had shortly before we lost her," one wrote.
A person criticized saying, "Trump is clearly insane. Iran doesn't pose even the slightest threat to the US."
