Trump mocked as he vows to expand Space Force amid revealing his military plans if reelected

DETROIT, MICHIGAN: Former President Donald Trump addressed the 146th General Conference and Exhibition of the National Guard Association in Detroit on Monday, August 26, where he pledged to establish a Space National Guard as the armed reserve component of the Space Force.

During his speech, Trump also dived into foreign policy, expressing his dissatisfaction with NATO countries for not contributing their "fair share."

As reported but Mediaite, Trump said, “I remember NATO, one of the heads of one of the countries. I won’t embarrass him by saying which one. But we had 28 countries gathered around the table. It was sort of a semisecret meeting, which is nothing secret in this world, but some of the press didn’t want to report it because it was a good story. But one of the leaders, one of the leaders stood up, said, so does that mean he wasn’t paid? He owed us billions.”

He further added, "Does that mean if we don’t pay you, you’re not going to defend us against Russia? I said that’s what it means."

Trump continued, stating that he took “so much heat from the fake news media” over that comment, but that he had to say it as a negotiating tactic.

Later the former president remarked, “One of my proudest achievements in my first term was to create Space Force, the first new branch of the armed forces in over seventy years. It’s a big deal. Now that Space Force is up and running."

He stated, "I agree with your leadership. You want this very badly, but I agree that the time has come to create a Space National Guard as the primary combat reserve of the US Space Force.”

Donald Trump promises to sign legislation for Space National Guard

Following a lengthy round of applause, Trump continued, “Thank you. So as president, I will sign historic legislation creating a Space National Guard. Until I spoke to somebody that’s, great guy, very much, a fan of yours, Marco Rubio. I said, what do you think? I love this, I love it, I love it.”

“So, we’re going to do that. Space Force has been very important. Very, very important. When I did that, the, the people came in, they wanted to end it, and they were just hammered because people realized how important we were getting just destroyed in space,” Trump spoke of his intention to construct an "Iron Dome" over the United States.

The 78-year-old former president stated, "And now we’re leading. We are leading with all of the major metrics in space. Russia and China were killing us because we had we didn’t really have a focus on it. And once you did that, we have a focus and now we’re leading in space throughout the armed forces. We will make a historic investment in building a US military for the 21st century, investing heavily in drones, robotics, artificial intelligence, hypersonics."

He continued, "You know, Hypersonics was, somebody stole this stuff, and Russia ended up making a. But we’re making them now. But Russia ended up making that superspeed missile as they go about seven times faster than a regular missile, which is quite fast."

"And, we’re going to build a great Iron Dome for missile defense around our nation. Other countries have said Israel has it. You know, Ronald Reagan wanted this many years ago, but we didn’t have the technology at that point. But now we have the technology," he concluded.

Internet mocks Donald Trump

As soon as the news surfaced the social media, users started reacting to it. A user wrote slamming Trump, "Something is not right about him"



 

Another added not believing in Trump's promises, "You have got to be freaking kidding me"



 

The third commentator mocked, "Ah yes. Space is famously a nation. Please give this man the nuclear codes."



 

"Trump is in his imaginary place right now, LOL," a person asked jokingly.



 

Other chimed in, "Trump continues his delusional thinking that he can buy and secure votes through empty promises and hollow agenda items."



 

An X user commented, "Since he's repeating himself let's skip ahead till he says something new"
