WASHINGTON, DC: Former president Donald Trump is putting further pressure on CNN's Dana Bash in advance of her interview with Vice President Kamala Harris and her running partner Tim Walz on Thursday, August 29.

“Dana Bash of CNN has a chance at greatness today,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social website. “If she gave a fair but tough interview of Comrade Kamala Harris, she will expose her as being totally inept and ill suited for the job of President, much as I exposed Crooked Joe Biden during our now famous Debate. How cool would that be for Dana and CNN???” he added.

Dana Bash landed first interview with Kamala Harris

This week, CNN revealed that Dana Bash had secured the first interview with Kamala Harris following her acceptance of the Democratic Party's presidential election. The Hill was informed by a source with knowledge of the network's intentions that the chat will be filmed on Thursday, August 29, during the day when Harris travels through Georgia by bus.

Harris has been under fire from Trump and other Republicans for weeks now due to her lack of television appearances and other spontaneous, on-the-ground activities since she assumed the Democratic mantle after Joe Biden withdrew from the contest for president last month.

Dana Bash was one of two CNN anchors who moderated the first presidential debate

In June, Dana Bash moderated the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden as one of two CNN anchors. The way the incumbent president conducted himself throughout that discussion aroused widespread concerns about his mental stability and prompted swift demands from other Democrats for his resignation.

During the initial debate, Bash and fellow moderator Jake Tapper faced criticism from onlookers for what they perceived as a deficiency in real-time fact-checking, namely with Trump's inaccurate or deceptive statements.

“Dana and Jake were fair, but firm, in my CNN Debate with Crooked Joe,” Trump wrote Thursday, August 29 “This is a chance for Dana Bash to reach REAL stardom, while at the same time doing a great service to our now failing Country. Good luck, Dana, do the right thing!!!” he added.

The network will run Bash's prime-time interview with Harris and Walz on Thursday, August 29, at nine o'clock in the evening.

Internet claims the CNN interview will be edited

Netizens expressed doubt on the authenticity of the upcoming CNN interview of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. One X user tweeted, "Dana Bash and ‘greatness.’ That is an oxymoron." Another added, "Greatness….she’s going to give them a warm sponge bath."

"I don’t expect greatness. I’m nearly certain Bash will essentially narrating a taped and edited Harris campaign commercial," remarked one. Another wrote, "Zero chance. The questions will be shared ahead of time, the answers will be edited, it won’t be live. It’s a completely orchestrated show by the phony corporate media outlet CNN."
