WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump commented on Elon Musk proclaiming his "straight love" for him and revealed how First Lady Melania Trump possibly feels about it during a press conference on Friday, February 7, as per the Daily Mail.

While the 78-year-old held the conference in the presence of the Prime Minister of Japan Shigeru Ishiba, the topic of conversation quickly shifted from bilateral engagement to revolve around the Tesla CEO, as per the publication.

Earlier in the day, Musk took to his social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share, "I love @realDonaldTrump as much as a straight man can love another man."

In another post, he called Trump the "greatest president ever" for signing an executive order against paper straws. The tech billionaire also reshared a photo of him standing beside the commander-in-chief wearing a giant MAGA hat.

Donald Trump guesses Melania Trump's feelings on Elon Musk proclaiming his love for him

During the press conference, Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy brought up Elon Musk's viral post about his love for him and asked, "What does the First Lady think about that?"

"Oh I think she'll be OK with it, somehow," Trump responded.

Doocy went on to inquire about a member of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) who lost his job for racist social media posts. The agency, which is headed by Musk, was created by Trump through executive order on his first day back in office.

The POTUS shared that he supported Vice President JD Vance's opinion that the dismissed DOGE engineer should get his job back.

He further confirmed that Musk would be allowed to go over the spending of "Pentagon, education, just everything. Just everything."

When asked if he had told Musk about things he would not have access to, Trump stated, "I'll tell him to go here, go there, and he does it, he has a very capable group of people. Very, very capable. They know what they're doing. They'll ask questions and they'll see immediately if somebody gets tongue-tied that they're either crooked or don't know what they're doing."

Internet in splits over Donald Trump's guess about Melania Trump's feelings on Elon Musk's proclamation of 'love'

Internet had a good laugh over Donald Trump's response to Peter Doocy's question about Elon Musk's proclamation.

One wrote, "Trump always knows how to make us laugh, love his sense of humor Great to see Elon Musk and Trump getting along, two huge MAGA supporters Making America Great Again one joke at a time, thanks for sharing."

Another joked, "Perfect comedic timing there! Though I have to wonder if Melania's already updating her prenup just in case."

"Trump will take any question. His wit is amazing. How refreshing to have a President whose jokes we actually get," wrote another social media user appreciating Trump's sense of humor.

Some felt Doocy's question wasn't appropriate for the setting, as one wrote, "These reporters are so disrespectful to the guest - Japan's Prime Minister with their stupid, off-topic questions. Trump is so accessible, it is not like they won't have time to ask him later in a more appropriate setting."

Some even took lighthearted jabs at Musk over his proclamation of love for the POTUS, with one saying, "You not even being political anymore you are just being thirsty babe."

"Valentine’s Day is on the 14th," reminded a person, while one more quipped, "You two are gonna break up eventually."

"Things are getting weird," another person declared.
