Trump says ‘I dont care’ about Nobel Prize, claims he stopped wars using tariffs
MIAMI, FLORIDA: President Donald Trump said he was not worried about not getting the Nobel Peace Prize but also said he helped prevent several world wars.
According to Trump, he used the threat of tariffs to push both countries toward de-escalation, where he also referenced conversations with foreign leaders.
Trump claims role in stopping conflicts
Speaking during a recent address, Trump said, “You know, when I didn't get the Nobel Peace Prize, you got to understand, I don't care,” before criticizing the credibility of the award.
Trump: “When I didn't get the Nobel Peace Prize. You gotta understand, I don't care. Norway has lost so credible. I stopped 8 wars… I do it the best. I stopped wars that nobody thought—President Putin called me, he said, 'I can't believe you stopped this one and this one.’” pic.twitter.com/319680HH9u

He also asserted that he had helped halt several conflicts, describing his approach as using economic pressure to prevent escalation.
“I stopped eight wars. I even stopped India and Pakistan. And they were going at it for a week. They had nine planes already shot down. They were in a war. I stopped them.”
Trump claimed that “I stopped eight wars,” and one of them was the conflict between India and Pakistan, which Trump said “was about to go to full-scale war.”
Trump claimed both countries had already suffered casualties and were in active hostilities before he stepped in.
Trump claimed that he “used the tariffs to negotiate peace” between the two nations. He also said that he threatened the two nations with tariffs as high as 250 percent if the hostilities did not cease.
“You know how I stopped them? I said, if you keep fighting, I'm going to put a 250 percent tariff on each one.”
Trump claims Putin called him
Trump also referenced conversations with foreign leaders, including claims that Pakistani leadership credited him with preventing large-scale casualties.
He framed his actions as part of a broader effort to reduce global conflict through economic leverage.
“I said, I'm doing it. All right, we won't fight anymore. That's how I stopped them. I used tariffs to stop. You ever hear of anything like that? It was too much for them to bear.”
“President Trump saved 30 to 50 million people. Two nuclear countries, what happened? And I figured, I mean, if I don't get The Nobel Prize for Peace. Nobody will ever get it. I didn't get it. I'm not surprised.”
He also referred to a recent recipient of the prize, describing her as a “wonderful woman” who he claimed had expressed surprise at receiving the award.
Trump did not name the individual directly but suggested she had acknowledged his role in international diplomacy.
“But stopping wars is, I think, is my It's the best. I think I do it the best. I stopped wars that nobody thought.”
“President Putin called me. He said, I can't believe you stopped this one and this one, which are impossible.”
