WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump commented on the fatal shooting involving ICE agents in Minneapolis. The incident occurred near 34th Street and Portland Avenue and involved a 37-year-old woman who appeared to be attempting to drive away from federal officers.

Trump said the woman 'violently, willfully and viciously' struck an ICE officer with her vehicle before she was shot by the agent on Wednesday, January 7. He defended the officer’s actions and stated that the shooting was an act of 'self-defense.' 

He also shared, "Based on the attached clip, it is hard to believe he is alive, but he is now recovering in the hospital." Trump blamed the situation on the 'radical left.'

Trump disputes Minneapolis police version of fatal ICE shooting

The woman killed during an ICE-related shooting in Minneapolis was identified by her mother as Renee Nicole Good, according to the Minnesota Star Tribune. The incident has garnered national attention after Trump publicly weighed in on the case.

Posting on Truth Social, Trump shared his version of events after reviewing video footage of the encounter. In his post, he placed blame on the individuals involved and defended the actions of the ICE officer, while directly contradicting remarks made by Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara.

“I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a horrible thing to watch. The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self-defense,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump went on to describe the condition of the officer and framed the incident as part of a broader pattern of hostility toward law enforcement.

“Based on the attached clip, it is hard to believe he is alive, but is now recovering in the hospital. The situation is being studied, in its entirety, but the reason these incidents are happening is because the Radical Left is threatening, assaulting, and targeting our Law Enforcement Officers and ICE Agents on a daily basis."

"They are just trying to do the job of MAKING AMERICA SAFE. We need to stand by and protect our Law Enforcement Officers from this Radical Left Movement of Violence and Hate!” concluded Trump. The comments have intensified debate, particularly as officials continue to review evidence surrounding the shooting and its circumstances.

What Brian O’Hara said about Renee Nicole Good and shooting



Brian O’Hara addressed the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good during a press conference held earlier in the day. O’Hara said officers arrived to find a woman suffering from a gunshot wound and attempted emergency intervention.

“We arrived and found a woman with a gunshot wound to the head. Life-saving measures were performed at the scene, including CPR. The woman was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center where she has since been pronounced deceased.”

O’Hara stated that a federal law enforcement officer later approached the vehicle on foot, after which the situation escalated. “At some point, a federal law enforcement officer approached her on foot, and the vehicle began to drive off. At least two shots were fired. The vehicle then crashed on the side of the roadway.”

He added that Minneapolis police secured the area and worked to protect evidence. “Minneapolis police officers secured the crime scene and assisted in trying to preserve the evidence that is there.”
