Trump signals Obama will face 'military tribunal' in late-night posting spree

WASHINGTON, DC: In‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ a seemingly unhinged show, President Donald Trump was posting on social media more than 160 times Monday night.

One of the crazy things he did was to post a link to a shared post, which was a firm promise that ex-President Barack Obama would be put on trial before a military ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌tribunal.

During‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ the night, the intensive attack comprised a variety of things, such as the original posts, tweets from the followers and far-right pundits, videos, and pieces of writing full of conspiracy theories.

‘Obama committed treason,’ re-shares Donald Trump

Trump attacked again the same enemies he always had, ex-presidents, Democratic leaders, and political rivals - at the same time, he was sharing videos and comments that could be interpreted as either old-style campaign propaganda or incendiary conspiracy ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌assertions.

Trump’s account re-shared a post on Truth Social, saying, “When the Director of National Intelligence tells the public Obama committed TREASON and President Trump is your President, you can 100% know we will see his MILITARY TRIBUNAL,” by @juliesnark1731.

Soon after, the same account hailed Trump’s repost on X.

“President Trump reposting my Obama Tribunal post should be some serious nods that IT IS COMING,” they wrote. “Wooohooo!! JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!!”

Calls for military tribunals against Trump’s perceived enemies have been frequent among his supporters

One‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ of the most common things that his fans, especially those who believe in the QAnon conspiracy theory, keep saying is that military tribunals should be used to handle the ‘enemies’ of Trump.

In the past, Donald Trump demanded that Barack Obama and a former Republican congresswoman, Liz Cheney, should face military tribunals.

Moreover, Trump suggested that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, the former vice president, should be put behind bars. ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌

Some supporters view the spree as an example of Trump’s continued connection with his base and a reaffirmation of his political influence through social media.

Whether these posts drive momentum or further polarize public discourse remains hotly debated.

Obama to face trials, demands Trump

In May, Trump amplified a Truth Social post that called for Obama to face trial.

On Truth Social, Trump shared an entry from a right-wing X user with a photo of Trump and Obama accompanied by the caption: “ALL ROADS LEAD TO OBAMA... RETRUTH IF YOU WANT PUBLIC MILITARY TRIBUNALS.” (@SpiritualStreetfighter, Truth Social)

“ALL ROADS LEAD TO OBAMA... RETRUTH IF YOU WANT PUBLIC MILITARY TRIBUNALS,” the account posted, accompanied by a photo of Trump and Obama. Trump shared the post on his own account.

The‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ threats by Trump of military tribunals may now seem less serious in comparison with his most daring threats to date.

Just a month ago, Trump insinuated that Democratic veterans in Congress should be executed for making public a joint video that called on US military service members to resist illegal ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌orders.

President Donald Trump accused several Democratic lawmakers of “seditious behavior,” calling for them to “be arrested and put on trial” for behavior that, he said, could be “punishable by death.” (@realDonaldTrump, Truth Social)

Trump called it “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!” and boosted a post from an anonymous account that read, “HANG THEM GEORGE WASHINGTON WOULD!!”
