Trump sparks health concerns after appearing to be ‘asleep’ during Oval Office meeting
WASHINGTON, DC: A new video of President Donald Trump appearing to nod off during a meeting at the Oval Office on Thursday has sparked renewed concerns about the 79-year-old’s health.
The meeting, which focused on drug pricing deals with major pharmaceutical companies, was briefly interrupted after a man collapsed, but it’s what happened before that moment that caught public attention.
Clips from the broadcast show Trump sitting behind the Resolute Desk with his eyes closed and shoulders slumped, prompting speculation that the president had fallen asleep. The footage quickly spread across social media platforms, with users on X debating whether the president was merely resting his eyes or showing signs of fatigue.

Trump appears unresponsive during meeting
The Oval Office event was meant to highlight a White House agreement with Novo Nordisk and other drugmakers to reduce the cost of obesity medications for Americans.
Cameras captured Trump seated between executives as Dr Mehmet Oz, now serving as the administration’s Health and Wellness Advisor, spoke about the connection between obesity and dementia.
Midway through the remarks, Trump appeared motionless, with his head tilted slightly forward and his eyes closed.
Online speculation over Trump’s health
The brief clip reignited online chatter about the president’s health, with some suggesting there may be medical issues the administration hasn’t disclosed and others rushing to his defense, saying the clip was taken out of context.
“Your Republican Party leader, America’s president dozing off during press conference in White House The man had an MRI. His hands are bruised the right side of his face droops he’s ill and the White House will not tell America how sick he is. Clearly, he’s sleepy Donald Trump,” one user wrote, while another said, “Trump looks unwell… very unwell Slumping, unable to sit upright. Why do these start so late…”

Another user commented, “Just before someone collapsed live in the Oval Office, Donald Trump was caught sleeping again in the middle of a press conference, right besides him. No, this is not AI. This is real. He's just too old for the job, be he good or bad for the actual position."

Several users argued that the president was simply closing his eyes while listening to Dr Oz’s remarks.
One user on X commented, "So now it's illegal to get a little sleepy in an afternoon work meeting???"

In October, Trump himself acknowledged undergoing an MRI, saying during a rally in Ohio that “it was perfect.” His longtime physician, Dr Bruce Aronwald, also reiterated in a written note that the president remains in excellent overall health.
Still, the White House has faced repeated scrutiny after photos earlier this year appeared to show Trump’s swollen ankles and a bruised hand, which aides attributed to a pre-existing condition known as chronic venous insufficiency.
Confusion over incident during meeting
The Thursday meeting took a dramatic turn when one of the attendees suddenly collapsed inside the Oval Office, prompting a temporary halt. Early reports misidentified the man as Gordon Findlay, a representative for Novo Nordisk, but the company later clarified that only CEO Mike Doustdar and Executive Vice President of US Operations Dave Moore were present.
Neither the White House nor Trump’s medical team has commented on the president’s brief lapse in alertness, and no official statement has been issued confirming any illness.
