WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald J Trump has announced a sudden, high-profile administrative change by appointing William J Pulte, the current Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency and Chairman of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, as the Acting Director of National Intelligence.

The unexpected assignment places a prominent corporate executive best known for managing domestic mortgage markets at the absolute center of the United States national security infrastructure.

The dual-role appointment allows Pulte to maintain full operational oversight of the country's most sensitive intelligence networks while simultaneously retaining his current leadership position over the federal housing sector.

The appointment is the latest example of the President entrusting critical government roles to a small circle of loyal financial allies, fueling scrutiny in Washington over the unprecedented transition from corporate mortgage oversight to the nation's top intelligence post.

Trump aggressively defended the appointment in an official statement published on his Truth Social platform.

The President asserted that Pulte's extensive background in managing volatile private and public financial sectors makes him fully qualified to oversee the nation's intelligence apparatus.

“William has deep experience managing the most sensitive matters in America, the safety and soundness of the Markets, and over 10 Trillion Dollars at Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, a substantial increase from where it was just 12 months ago,” Trump wrote, signaling that corporate fiscal management remains a key benchmark for executive leadership positions.

Under the terms of the surprise administrative shuffle, Pulte will not step down from his primary economic responsibilities.

He will remain actively seated as the Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, as well as the Chairman of both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, consolidating an unprecedented level of regulatory authority over domestic housing capital and foreign security operations.

While national security observers analyze the long-term impact of placing a housing official over the intelligence community, Trump concluded his announcement with praise, stating, “Congratulations to Director Pulte!”
