Cameron and Madden, both 33, also spoke to PEOPLE as they expressed their excitement.
“It’s going to change everything in our lives. Our parents gave us a great life, and I want us to give this little baby an even greater life. Everything that we learn from our families [I want to] take the best of it and instill it into our kids,” Cameron said.
“[Our child] is someone I get to love on and help grow. I’m excited. Being a parent is the most important job in the world,” he added.
As per the couple, they found out about the pregnancy soon after their engagement in August.
“The night we got back from getting engaged, I took the [pregnancy] test,” Madden revealed, while Cameron stated, “We’ve been in a whirlwind ever since we found out,” referring to his busy rehearsal schedule.
“Tate brought me a picture of the ultrasound to New York City when I finally got to see her again. Seeing that picture was when it really, really was real for me. Like, ‘Oh my God, we’re doing this. We’re having a baby.’ It was just an amazing moment,” he told the publication.

About his performance, Cameron said, “I want to dedicate it [to mothers] because they’re so important. Everyone needs their mom. Moms are what make this world go around. I lost my mom, and my mom would have loved Tate. All the best things in my mom, I found in Tate.”
