JUPITER, FLORIDA: Donald Trump's daughter-in-law Lara Trump claims that Joe Biden is only running for a second term in the White House to avoid his family going to jail.

The wife of the former President's son, Eric Trump, made the allegations while speaking to Newsmax.

Lara's claims have since been mocked by social media users who pointed out that she is mistaken and that it is Trump who is trying to save his family by running for president and not Biden.

What did Lara Trump say about Joe Biden's second presidential race?

"Very interesting to hear that Joe Biden said the only reason he decided to run is because of Donald Trump. Is that because he thinks Donald Trump might investigate his family even further?" said Lara.

Indicating to the criminal charges against Hunter Biden, she said: "You look at this situation with Hunter Biden, and a lot of people draw some correlation there and say, 'Maybe the only reason Joe Biden is trying to hang onto power is because his family depends on him to continue the cover-up that we know has happened for the Biden crime family.'"

"This is nothing new. This is part of the politics that we see here in the US. People know very well that Donald Trump is not a dictator, of course," she concluded.

The Internet asked the former television host whether she got confused with her father-in-law, who is currently facing 91 charges in his four indictments, according to Washington Post.

One user said, "They are in the upside down."

Another user wrote, "The ol' "I'm rubber, you're glue" defense."

"She's not very good at tallying indictment counts. Or did she misspeak and mean to say Trump?" remarked a third user.

A fourth user stated, "I don't understand seems this woman is confused."

"Poor girl. She got Biden mixed up with Trump," read another reaction. One user said, "What a thought. So both of them are running to stay out of prison. Maybe we should make this a tv series."

"Every accusation is a confession," said another.

Another user mocked the Trump daughter-in-law, saying, "I aspire to this level of trolling."
