LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Wendy Williams' former radio companion Charlamagne Tha God remarked that it was "very hard to watch" the Lifetime documentary about the former talk host and that her family had given their approval "shocked" him.

Initially aired on Saturday, February 24, 'Where Is Wendy Williams', the startling four-hour documentary that ran over two days on Lifetime, revealed the former talk show host's failing health as a result of frontotemporal dementia and progressive aphasia.

Charlamagne Tha God shares his thoughts on Wendy Williams' documentary

While discussing his thoughts on the Lifetime documentary about the 59-year-old, 'The Breakfast Club' co-host—who got his big start in radio working on her 'Wendy Williams Experience' on 107.5 WBLS from 2006 to 2008—said, "It was sad and I was just like, damn, man."

"I know her son, Kevin, her niece, nephew, sister and brother all love her and care for her so it’s very interesting to see them participate in this documentary knowing the state she was in," the 45-year-old added.

He continued: "I was just like, damn. You could look at her and tell something’s not right, so why would you want this out there?"

"I don’t know who she has around her that truly cares and I was very very shocked and surprised to see that her family was executive producers of this project," Charlamagne further added.

However, the 'Shook One' author claims that Williams' legacy is preserved despite the negative tone of the documentary.

"You can’t erase who Wendy Williams is," he told Page Six, "You just have to look at all of this in the totality of her existence. Her story is not over. That’s the beauty about life: it is never over until it’s over."

"She had a stellar radio career. She had a stellar fourteen-year run on TV. This is just the current chapter for Wendy Williams," Charlamagne remarked.

Williams' ex-radio partner further added: "I just hope that we all can learn from this. When you see great people fall, don’t laugh; learn from it. It was just poor life choices."

"It is not the end for Wendy Williams because she is still here on this planet."

Charlamagne claims Wendy Williams' rude conduct 'has nothing to do with dementia'

After watching the Wendy Williams documentary on Lifetime, Charlamagne addressed those who claimed Williams' harsh behavior was caused by dementia.

However, that is not the case based on the former radio host's personal experience.

Charlamagne addressed the claims and said: "That documentary was very triggering for me as someone who worked with Wendy for three years. I saw people saying dementia was causing her to talk to people like that. No, y’all shut the hell up. Y’all don’t know what y’all talking about that had nothing to do with dementia."

"I was looking at those moments and said, ‘There goes Wendy'."

'The Breakfast Club' reviewed 'Where Is Wendy Williams' documentary

Charlamagne Tha God and the hosts of 'The Breakfast Club' earlier reviewed and shared their thoughts on Williams' four-hour documentary, which showcased her recent health diagnoses and alcohol addiction.

On February 26, footage of the 'Breakfast Club' on their official YouTube channel, shows Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy, and host Jess Hilarious offering their opinions on the TV show.

The documentary, according to Jess Hilarious, sent her on a "rollercoaster of emotions." Charlamagne, meanwhile, explained why he believed there was "zero reason for this documentary to be released," per The Shade Room.

"Like, I don’t even see the purpose at all. I guess it’s raising awareness for people who have different forms of dementia, but I don’t see how anybody who loves Wendy would want this documentary out," he added.

DJ Envy offered his opinion and said raising awareness of Williams' guardianship could have been another justification for the documentary's airing.

Charlamagne went on to say that it was "strange" to see Williams placed under guardianship and cut off from her family.
