At Least 12 Arrested Outside Columbia Amid Anti-ICE Protest
Twelve protesters were arrested outside Columbia University as students and faculty members held an anti-ICE rally on Thursday, February 5. According to event organizers, the demonstration dubbed, “ICE off campus,” called for protesters to gather at Broadway and 116th Street from 2 pm. Footage captured by Sunrise NYC shows demonstrators chanting and waving signs opposing Immigration and Customs Enforcement. New York police officers are seen arresting a protester in zip ties around the two-minute mark. “I’m being arrested because fascist agents are arresting Americans,” one of the demonstrators is heard replying when asked why she was being detained.
