Beshear Targets Mitch McConnell, Opposes Capitol Statue, Says He ‘Could Have Prevented’ Crisis

Gov. Andy Beshear is turning the Mitch McConnell statue fight into a much bigger political indictment. As Kentucky Republicans move to place a privately funded statue of McConnell in the Capitol rotunda, Beshear says he does not support the idea. His reason goes beyond symbolism. Beshear argued that McConnell had a chance to stop Trump from returning to power and failed to do it.
