Chaos Erupts on UK-Bound Flight as Midair Brawl Forces Diversion to Brussels

A Jet2 flight from Turkey to the UK was forced to divert to Brussels, Belgium, on Thursday, February 12, after a violent brawl broke out between passengers. This footage, captured by Gemmaraw01, shows travelers arguing with two men on the flight from Antalya to Manchester. After touching down in Brussels, one of the men is seen taunting his fellow passengers, shouting, “You couldn’t fight us.” A further physical altercation between passengers then breaks out, just before the eight-minute mark, with numerous hands thrown around in the melee and screaming ringing out. The chaos eventually draws to a close when authorities enter the aircraft and arrest the two men. The flight then continued to Manchester. Gemmaraw01 said the incident was sparked after the pair “became aggressive with staff and passengers and started racially abusing passengers.” Jet2 confirmed the incident in a statement to Storyful, and said the two passengers would be banned from flying with the airline for life. “Flight LS896 from Antalya to Manchester diverted to Brussels, due to the appalling behaviour of two disruptive passengers,” a spokesperson said. “We can confirm that the two disruptive passengers will be banned from flying with us for life, and we will also vigorously pursue them to recover the costs that we incurred as a result of this diversion. “As a family-friendly airline, we take a zero-tolerance approach to disruptive passenger behaviour, and we are very sorry that other customers and our colleagues onboard had to experience this too.”
