Officers Rescue Six-Year-Old Autistic Child From Pond. A six-year-old autistic boy was rescued by officers after falling into a pond in Deltona, Florida, late on Christmas, authorities said. The Volusia Sheriff’s Office released footage of the rescue. Authorities said the child, named Coco, was chest-deep in the water when officers arrived. He was cold but unharmed. Officers had previously rescued Coco from a pond in August 2024. After that incident, Coco started swimming lessons, and deputies spoke with his family about improving safety measures at the home. “Most importantly, we’re just glad he’s back home safe,” the sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook.
