Thieves hammered through the wall of a collectible shop in Anaheim, California, and stole around $180,000 worth of Pokemon cards on February 17, according to local media citing police. The surveillance video, released by Do-We Collectibles, shows the thieves arriving at the shop around 3:05 am, knocking down part of the wall to the store, and proceeding to break glass and steal collectible items before leaving in a dark sedan. Talking to ABC7, shop owner Duy Pham said the robbers first broke into the business next door, then created a large hole in the drywall to reach his store. “They took a lot of smaller, single cards, and we have a lot of those so it does add up to a lot … big amount of merchandise was stolen here,” he told ABC7. “All of our display cases were empty.” According to KTLA, citing the Anaheim Police Department, the thieves escaped with roughly $180,000 worth of merchandise. Storyful has reached out to police for a statement.
