Drone Video Captures Massive Fire at Virginia Timber Plant

A large fire erupted at a Virginia timber plant on Thursday, January 15, and spread into wooded areas nearby, firefighters said. Drone footage filmed by Anjelo A Pizzo shows the extensive fire at the abandoned Georgia-Pacific plant in Emporia in the state’s south. Firefighters said they were able to “knock the brunt of the fire down after a few hours.” No injuries were reported, they said. According to local media, the fire was so big that residents said online they could feel the heat from the blaze across the city on Thursday evening.
