“I Wanted to Confront Him” Rep. Al Green Explains Disruption After SOTU Removal

Rep. Al Green didn’t just sit through President Trump’s State of the Union he ended up being removed from it. After being escorted from the chamber, @RepAlGreen spoke to reporters and explained why he chose to disrupt the speech: “Tonight, I wanted him to have a person confront him and let him know that Black people aren't apes.” Green says he interrupted the speech because he wanted to confront Trump directly on what he views as racist rhetoric and dehumanizing language.
