ICE’s “Operation Buckeye” Hits Columbus — Viral Video Shows Agents Pinning Suspect to Ground as Crackdown on Criminal Illegal Aliens Begins

An agent wearing a police vest was seen pinning a man to the ground in Columbus, Ohio, on December 20 amid escalating immigration operations in the city. Video filmed by an organizer with @columbus50501 shows several agents piling on top of a man as whistles ring out in the background. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced it launched Operation Buckeye on December 16, which aimed to target “the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens in Columbus and throughout Ohio.” In a video posted to Facebook on December 19, Columbus Mayor Andrew J Ginther called for the community to “come together” and shared legal resources for immigrants and refugees.
