ICE Arrests Teen Making Appearance at Minneapolis Court
A teenager was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents outside the Hennepin County Government Center in Minnesota on Tuesday, February 10, where he was making a court appearance for a drug-related charge. Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty condemned the use of local government courthouses for immigration enforcement, saying it “interferes with the administration of justice, prevents witnesses from testifying and robs victims of their opportunity to seek justice” and called the arrest “disruptive and disturbing.” Video filmed by Rachel Gerdes shows plainclothes ICE agents pinning the teen, who was reported as being 18 years old, to the ground as bystanders blew whistles and condemned the officers.
