Illinois High School Students Stage Walkout to Protest Against ICE
Illinois high school students staged a walkout to protest the federal crackdown by US immigration agencies in the state on the morning of Monday, February 9. Footage filmed by the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) shows students from Warren Township High School’s O’Plaine and Almond campuses marching through the streets of Gurnee while carrying signs and flags. Last October, federal agents stormed the O’Plaine campus as part of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)’s “Operation Midway Blitz.” Students also walked out of a neighboring school in the town of Round Lake on Monday, joining a nationwide movement against ICE.
