Iranian Cluster Warheads Slam Tel Aviv in Intense Strike
Iran launched ballistic missiles carrying cluster bomb warheads at central Israel today, with submunitions striking multiple locations across the Tel Aviv area. Tel Aviv's district police commander confirmed impacts at several sites, causing damage and injuries. Each cluster warhead splits open mid-descent and scatters roughly 20 smaller explosive munitions across an 8-kilometer radius — a weapon Iran also deployed during the June 2025 war. The strikes are part of Iran's ongoing Operation True Promise IV, launched in retaliation for the joint US-Israeli Operation Roaring Lion that began on February 28. At least 11 people have been killed in Israel since the conflict erupted, including nine in a devastating strike on Beit Shemesh that hit a synagogue shelter and a Filipina caregiver killed in Tel Aviv. With over 40 buildings damaged in Tel Aviv alone, the country remains under a special state of emergency as the IDF works to intercept ongoing waves of Iranian fire. The conflict is now in its fourth day with diplomatic channels still stalled.
