“It’s Non-functional Economy” — Marco Rubio on Cuba, Says it has survived on Subsidies

Secretary Marco Rubio said Cuba’s economy is fundamentally broken, noting it previously relied on subsidies from the Soviet Union and, more recently, Venezuela. With those supports no longer in place, he said the country is now facing serious economic challenges. Rubio made the remarks while addressing the media during St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
