Larry Summers “deeply ashamed” and is stepping down.

Former United States Secretary of the Treasury and Former Harvard president, Larry Summers said he will step back from public commitments, after newly revealed emails showed he continued communicating with Jeffrey Epstein years after Epstein’s 2008 conviction. In a statement, Summers said he was “deeply ashamed” and accepted full responsibility for the lapse in judgment. He added that, while he will continue teaching, he is "stepping back from public commitments" as part of an effort to "rebuild trust" with colleagues and those close to him.
