Man Hands Out Vodka Shots in Lengthy Houston Airport Security Line

One traveler at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport had an innovative idea for boosting the spirits of his fellow travelers on Monday, March 23 - with literal spirits. Footage recorded by Kara Cichon shows a man at the Houston airport carrying around a bottle of vodka and passing out tiny plastic shot glasses to share with his fellow travelers. Cichon told Storyful she had been in line for about an hour when she spotted the man. “We all knew we had many hours ahead of us,” she said, adding that “the crowd cheered” every time someone took a shot. Travelers at US airports have been experiencing record wait times in recent weeks as the Department of Homeland Security has been unfunded, impacting Transportation Security Administration (TSA) staffing. On Friday, March 27, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to pay TSA employees.
