New Orleans Airport Travelers Stuck in Long Lines as Government Shutdown Continues

People were having to wait in long lines at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport on Sunday morning, March 22, as Transportation Security Administration (TSA) wait times continued due to the federal funding lapse. Footage filmed by Matt Doll shows people standing in long lines inside the airport. “This is wild. They are sending the line out into the parking garage. Estimated 2-3 hour TSA line right now,” Doll wrote on X. The TSA said that amid the current government funding gridlock, as many as 10% of workers called in sick, according to news reports. Wait lines were longer at other airports across the country too, including in Chicago, LaGuardia, and Atlanta.
