NYC Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani Urges Boycott of Starbucks During Barista Strike
NYC Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani is calling for a boycott of Starbucks as baristas across the country launch an Unfair Labor Practices strike. About a thousand workers at 65 stores walked out on Red Cup Day normally one of Starbucks’ biggest sales days. The union says the strike could grow to more than 500 stores if talks don’t resume. Starbucks says nearly all locations stayed open and they still expect strong sales. Mamdani says he’s backing workers, declaring: “No contract, no coffee.”
