Senator Patty Murray on DHS Funding: “Not going to cut a blank check for ICE”

Sen. Patty Murray called for advancing DHS funding through unanimous consent while excluding funding for ICE and Customs and Border Protection. She said Democrats support funding agencies like FEMA and TSA but want reforms to “rein in ICE and Border Patrol.” Murray added that they would not support what she described as a “blank check” for ICE, saying, “We want TSA and FEMA funded, but we are not going to be blackmailed into cutting a blank check for ICE to get it done.”
