Single loose wire had caused Baltimore Bridge Collapse

A single loose wire shut down the Dali cargo ship… and brought down the Francis Scott Key Bridge. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) released its final report, revealing that one misinstalled wire knocked out the ship’s electrical system, leaving it powerless and unable to steer moments before impact. The board also faulted the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) for failing to conduct a vulnerability assessment that could have added protections against ship strikes.
