'Hero' Officer Busts Down Door to Save Family From Burning Chattanooga Home A police officer was hailed as a “hero” by a grateful mother after he saved her and her two children from their burning home in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Newly released Ring camera footage from mother Rachel Blaylock shows Officer Rogers running up to the second-floor apartment, kicking in the front door, and rescuing Blaylock’s four-year-old daughter. Blaylock can be seen following with her 10-year-old son. “He is a hero,” she told Storyful. “After neighbors informed Officer Rogers that people were still inside, he immediately jumped into action, rescuing two children and their mother,” the Chattanooga Police Department said. “Police are not trained in firefighting, but they do take an oath to serve and protect. And that is exactly what Officer Rogers did.” According to the Chattanooga Fire Department, no injuries were reported, and the fire was under control within 20 minutes of crews first being dispatched. Blaylock told local media, “I tried to thank [Officer Rogers] that night, and he’s just shrugging it off, like it’s just another day at work, but that’s my little daughter.” The family started a GoFundMe page to raise money for relocation costs. #Tennessee #Chattanooga #PoliceHero #HeroCop #RingCamera #BreakingNews #FireRescue #Police #FirstResponders #ViralVideo #Rescue #USA #Firefighter #Family #NewsUpdate
