Boston Area Gunman Fires Over 60 Rounds Before Being Taken Down
Then they saw a man walking down Memorial Drive with a long gun and the shooting started.
Authorities say 46-year-old Tyler Brown opened fire on random vehicles in Cambridge, Massachusetts, near Harvard and MIT, firing more than 60 rounds from an assault-style weapon. Two motorists were seriously wounded, at least a dozen vehicles were hit, and terrified drivers abandoned cars or hid for cover as bullets tore through traffic.
The attack ended when a Massachusetts state trooper and a former Marine who was legally carrying a gun moved toward the threat and shot the suspect.
