Bodycam Captures Arrest of Florida Man Running for Governor A Florida man currently running for governor was arrested on Friday, April 10, following a domestic disturbance with a weapon in Palm Coast, according to local police. The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a residence on Cleveland Court on Friday after they received a report that a man had battered two elderly victims in the home by hitting one with a cane and throwing a cellphone at the other. This bodycam footage shows deputies detaining the male suspect, whom they identified as 46-year-old Kevin Cichowski. “I haven’t done anything wrong,” Cichowski says in the video. “This is insane.” One of the alleged victims, who called 911, also said Cichowski had a gun, had threatened to kill them multiple times, and said he would kill law enforcement if they were called. The victims were safely evacuated and Cichowski was arrested on two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, tampering with a witness, and two counts of robbery by sudden snatching, the sheriff’s office said. Police also said that while being transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, Cichowski made suicidal statements and was placed into protective custody. Cichowski is currently running for election for Governor of Florida and previously ran for Palm Coast mayor in 2021.
