‘Made in America’: First New U.S. Iron Mine in 50 Years Opens

After decades without a new operation of its kind, Mesabi Metallics is starting up its Minnesota iron ore mine and pellet plant. The project is expected to produce up to 7 million tons of high-grade iron ore pellets a year and strengthen domestic supply for American steelmakers.
