Mamdani Unveils Plan to Reuse Subway Heat Across New York

New York City is studying a first-of-its-kind transit thermal-energy network that could cool subway platforms in summer while reusing excess heat to warm nearby municipal buildings in winter. The plan is being explored at the Chambers Street and Brooklyn Bridge–City Hall station complex.
