Police Dog Takes Down Armed Suspect in Downtown San Diego A dog with San Diego Police Department took down a non-complying suspect who attacked a parking lot attendant in downtown San Diego on Sunday, April 12. The suspect, identified as Lathapoun Keovongsa, allegedly struck the victim on the head with a broken wooden cane and refused to cooperate with officers when they arrived on the scene. Officers fired multiple non-lethal rounds at Keovongsa before deploying a K-9 unit, who tackled and bit the man, giving other officers a chance to apprehend him. Phaedra Cook captured the tense moment the suspect struck the German shepherd with the wooden bat, before the dog gained the upper hand and pulled Keovongsa to the ground. #SanDiego #PoliceDog #K9Unit #SanDiegoPoliceDepartment #ArmedSuspect #DowntownSanDiego #PoliceResponse #GermanShepherd #CrimeNews #BreakingNews #LawAndOrder #PoliceK9
