Hot Air Balloon With 13 Passengers Makes Emergency Landing in Yard, No Injuries Reported
An unusual scene unfolded at a home in Temecula when resident Hunter Perrin discovered a hot air balloon had landed directly in his backyard.
Perrin said he was inside watching TV when a neighbor alerted him, leading to the unexpected sight of a balloon basket carrying 13 passengers sitting just outside. According to those on board, the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing due to low wind conditions and limited fuel.
The pilot initially attempted to land in the street but ultimately brought the balloon down in the backyard. Despite the unusual landing, authorities confirmed that no one was injured and no property was damaged.
The incident highlights how pilots are trained to make quick decisions to ensure passenger safety, even if it means landing in unexpected locations.
