Inmate Uses Pencil to Escape Jail in South Carolina

Charles Alexander Dieterich escaped his cell at the Chesterfield County Detention Center by manipulating the locking mechanism with a pencil, then slipped through a kitchen door and climbed a barbed-wire fence. Deputies found him on a nearby road about 30 minutes later.
