John Marck Dodges Question on Trump’s 2028 Eligibility
Trump judicial nominee John Marck is facing scrutiny after dodging a direct question about whether President Donald Trump can run for president again in 2028.
During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Sen. Chris Coons asked Marck whether Trump would be eligible to run again after being elected president twice. Marck did not answer directly. Instead, he said the issue would depend on the facts, called it more of a hypothetical, and said he would need to review the wording.
Coons then made the constitutional point himself: the 22nd Amendment says no person can be elected president more than twice.
