Trump Imposes New Sanctions on Cuba, Díaz-Canel Calls it ‘Collective Punishment’
President Donald Trump has imposed new sanctions on Cuba, expanding pressure on Cuban regime officials, affiliates, and entities the White House says are tied to repression and threats to U.S. national security.
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel called the move “collective punishment.”
The White House says the sanctions are about holding Cuba accountable. Havana says they are another act of pressure against the Cuban people.
Then Trump added his own message in Florida:
“Cuba’s got problems. We’ll finish one first. I like to finish a job.”
